Privacy Policy

Our plain-language commitment

EstateClose does not require an account. We do not operate a server that receives your estate records, documents, scanned text, passwords, reports, or backups. We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information you enter

You may enter names, contact details, financial amounts, account descriptions, assets, claims, notes, transactions, and other estate administration records. You may also import statements or attach receipts and documents. This content is stored locally in the app's protected storage on your device.

Device permissions

EstateClose asks for access only when you choose a feature that needs it:

• Camera — to scan a receipt or estate document.
• Photo library — to attach a photo you select.
• Face ID or device authentication — to lock the app. EstateClose receives only the success or failure result from iOS, never your biometric data.

You can manage these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Scanning and document recognition

Receipt and statement recognition is performed on your device. Suggested values remain subject to your review before they become part of the estate record.

Backups, exports, and sharing

When you create an encrypted complete backup, EstateClose encrypts the records and evidence on your device before presenting the iOS share sheet. EstateClose does not know or store the password. If you create an unencrypted JSON, CSV, or PDF export, that exported file is not protected by EstateClose after it leaves the app.

You decide where exports and backups are saved or whom they are shared with. The privacy practices of the destination service or recipient then apply.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

EstateClose does not include third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technology. We do not collect usage histories, device identifiers, precise location, contacts, or financial records from the app.

Retention and deletion

Your records remain on your device until you delete an estate, delete the app, erase the device, or restore a different backup. Files you exported are controlled separately by the location where you saved them. Before deleting the app, keep any backup or report you are required to retain.

Children's privacy

EstateClose is intended for adults performing estate administration. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If EstateClose's data practices materially change, this policy will be updated before the change is released. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
